Abstract

This study aimed to explore the school health and nutrition programs of public elementary schools. The study generated seven (7) major themes identified in elementary school school’s practices as regards to health and nutrition programs, namely:  (1) Important Factors Influencing the Success of the School Health and Nutrition Programs; (2) Learners’ Benefits from the School Health and Nutrition Programs; (3) Enhancing the Program Through Collaboration and Community Engagement; (4) Enhancing the Program’s External Partnership; (5) Facing Challenges in the Implementation of the Program; (6) Sustainability and Effectiveness of the Program; and (7) Enhancing School Health and Nutrition Programs through Local Resources and Community Engagement. It fosters for schools to improve school health and nutrition programs effectively, policymakers and school administrators should prioritize community-driven models, invest in local capacity-building, and design flexible systems that can adapt to on-the-ground challenges while measuring both immediate (learner benefits) and long-term (sustainability) outcomes.
