This study aims to analyze the effect of loneliness on suicidal ideation in adolescents with depression as a mediator variable. The study uses a quantitative approach with a correlational design through mediation regression analysis. The research subjects consisted of 125 adolescents aged 12–21 years who were selected using accidental sampling techniques. Data were collected using the UCLA Loneliness Scale, Beck Depression Inventory-II (BDI-II), and Beck Scale for Suicide Ideation (BSS), then analyzed using JASP software. The results of the analysis show that loneliness has a significant effect on suicidal ideation through depression. Depression was found to play a strong mediating role, contributing 85.9% to the variation in suicidal ideation (R² = 0.859; p < 0.001). These findings confirm that depression is an important psychological mechanism that explains the relationship between loneliness and suicidal ideation in adolescents. This study emphasizes the importance of early intervention focused on addressing loneliness and symptoms of depression to reduce the risk of suicide in adolescents.
