A Strategic Framework for Leadership Excellence: Enhancing Quality in Integrated Islamic Primary Education through SWOT Analysis in Muara Badak

Quality education is a vital pillar for individual and societal progress, shaping not only academic knowledge but also life skills, ethical values, and social competencies. In primary education, it plays a key role in laying the foundation for future learning, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities. However, many schools struggle to optimize their potential due to a lack of strategic insight. To address this, school principals can utilize SWOT analysis to evaluate internal strengths and weaknesses, as well as external opportunities and threats. This strategic approach enables principals to develop comprehensive plans that enhance school quality and address emerging challenges. Data collection methods include in-depth interviews with the principal, teachers, and staff, parents and students, direct observations of daily practices, and document analysis of relevant materials such as strategic plans and evaluation reports. The research aims to understand how the principal effectively applies SWOT analysis to improve the school’s overall quality. The findings suggest that the school benefits from strong leadership, a committed teaching staff, and a curriculum that integrates Islamic values with modern educational practices. However, challenges such as limited resources and competitive pressures from other schools also exist. The application of SWOT analysis has been instrumental in guiding the school’s strategic decisions, enabling the principal to leverage strengths, mitigate weaknesses, and capitalize on opportunities for continued growth and improvement. This study offers insights into the effective use of strategic management tools in enhancing educational quality.
